What do you think of when you hear these names: Sorrento,
Positano, Amalfi, Ravello……! No words
can describe the scenery that we slapped our eyes on today. We had a nearly cloudless day with just a
little bit of haze in the air. No wind
and temperatures in the low 70’s. I
don’t believe it gets any better than that!
Our driver was Gianni, of course he was! Very nice and apologized profusely for his
lack of English and then proceeded to talk in nearly flawless sentences for the
next seven hours! It’s embarrassing that
we know so little about his Italian and he is even telling us jokes! We suck at languages!
We had a perfect day…again…and feel very spoiled and so
lucky to have this wonderful experience in perfect weather! Lunch was in a restaurant overlooking the sea
in Positano with tomatoes grown in the owner’s vertical gardens. Exquisite Limoncello from his own lemons and
pizza made in a wood fired oven. Am I
making you hungry? Oh, and we shared two
bottles of local wine that was a real treat!
Michele and Tom had an equally wonderful day and their tour
included time spent at Pompeii, which amazed them. They also got to see Sorrento and Positano!
My only tough time was the ride back from Amalfi because I
couldn’t make the entrance to the public toilet work and was locked out! So the nearly 90 minute ride back was
uncomfortable to say the least! By the
time we hit the port my eyeballs were floating!
I’m guessing that last paragraph should go in the “TMI”
category!
Early dinner this evening and we are shutting down early
tonight. We are bushed after so many
days on the go, go, go! Tomorrow is a
sea day and we also lose an hour tonight so we’ll call it a day.
XOXOXOX

ReplyDeleteSigh......me, too! Italy isn't the same without you.....<3
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I was in Ravello, but I can still see that town perfectly in my mind's eye. Special place.
